Gentle Anchor Doula’s Newborn Laundry Service was created to give parents more time to rest, bond with their baby, and focus on what matters most.
This is more than an ordinary wash-and-fold service. Every family’s laundry is handled separately, transported in sanitized bins, and washed using baby-safe or hypoallergenic detergent. Parents may also provide their baby’s regular detergent when needed.

SIMPLE NEWBORN LAUNDRY PRICING
Choose a package designed to meet your needs, from prenatal planning to postpartum care.
STANDARD SERVICE — $35
Includes pickup, washing, drying, folding, and delivery for one 13-gallon bag weighing up to 15 pounds.
ADDITIONAL BAG — $25
Add another 13-gallon bag to the same scheduled pickup and delivery. Each additional bag may weigh up to 15 pounds.
WEEKLY MOM PLAN — $32 PER WEEK
Receive one scheduled 13-gallon bag of newborn laundry service every week and save $3 per order.
OVERWEIGHT BAG — $2.50 PER ADDITIONAL POUND
Bags weighing more than 15 pounds will be charged $2.50 for each additional pound. Severely overfilled bags may be priced as an additional bag.
SAME-DAY SERVICE — ADD $15
Same-day service may be available by special request. Availability is not guaranteed.
DISTANCE FEE — ADD $10
Pickup and delivery are included for addresses within 20 driving minutes of Kalamazoo. Addresses located 21–30 driving minutes away require a $10 distance fee.
OPTIONAL ADD-ONS
• Nursery linens — add $8
• Up to three additional blankets or swaddles — add $5
• In-home fold and organize, up to 15 minutes — add $15
• Toddler laundry add-on, ages 12–24 months — add $10
• Sibling bundle for two or three children — add $15
All items must remain within the selected bag’s 15-pound limit unless additional weight or bags are purchased.
*Payment is due when your laundry is picked up. Your final total will be confirmed before your appointment.*
WHAT WE WASH
Our Newborn Laundry Service accepts:
• Onesies • Sleepers and pajamas • Baby shirts and pants• Baby socks • Swaddles • Burp cloths • Bibs • Baby blankets
• Crib and bassinet sheets • Towels and washcloths
• Other washable newborn and infant clothing
ITEMS WE CANNOT ACCEPT
For health and sanitation reasons, we cannot accept:
• Disposable diapers • Blowout diapers containing fecal matter
• Cloth diapers containing fecal matter • Items contaminated with bodily waste
• Items requiring dry cleaning
• Heavily soiled items that have not been properly rinsed
All solid waste must be completely removed. Prohibited or unsanitary items may be returned unwashed.
HOW TO PREPARE YOUR BAG
Place your baby’s washable clothing and linens inside a securely closed 13-gallon kitchen-size bag.
Your bag must:
• Weigh no more than 15 pounds for standard pricing
• Close completely without tearing • Be securely tied or closed
• Contain only approved washable items
• Be ready before your scheduled pickup window
Place delicate items or pieces requiring special care inside a smaller labeled bag before placing them in the main laundry bag.
We will make every reasonable effort to treat and reduce stains, but complete stain removal cannot be guaranteed. Please identify stains, allergies, skin sensitivities, delicate materials, and special-care instructions on your intake form.
HOW PICKUP AND DELIVERY WORKS
1. REQUEST YOUR SERVICE
Complete our Newborn Laundry Service Intake Form with your detergent preference, laundry details, address, and preferred pickup window.
2. RECEIVE CONFIRMATION
We will contact you to confirm availability, your pickup window, and your final service total.
3. PREPARE YOUR BAG
Place approved baby clothing and linens inside a securely closed 13-gallon bag. Have the bag ready at your selected location before your pickup window.
4. WE PICK UP YOUR LAUNDRY
Your baby’s laundry will be collected and transported inside a sanitized bin.
5. WE WASH, DRY AND FOLD
Your family’s items are washed separately using baby-safe detergent, hypoallergenic detergent, or the detergent you provide.
6. WE DELIVER IT FRESH
Your clean, carefully folded laundry will be returned during your confirmed delivery window.
SERVICE AREA
Service is available within a 30-minute driving radius of Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Pickup and delivery are included for addresses within 20 driving minutes. Addresses located 21–30 driving minutes away require a $10 distance fee.
Special scheduling requests may be considered individually. Your requested date and time are not confirmed until you receive confirmation from Gentle Anchor Doula.

Monday pickups are normally returned Tuesday. Wednesday pickups are normally returned Thursday.

PAYMENT
Payment is due at pickup unless another arrangement has been approved in advance.
TURNAROUND TIME
Standard turnaround is 24–48 hours for Monday and Wednesday pickups. Limited Friday pickups are normally returned the following Tuesday.
CANCELLATIONS AND RESCHEDULING
Please request a cancellation or rescheduling before 6:00 PM on the day before your scheduled pickup.
STAINS AND SPECIAL CARE
We will make every reasonable effort to treat stains, but complete stain removal cannot be guaranteed.
Customers must disclose known stains, allergies, skin sensitivities, delicate materials, and special-care instructions before pickup.
Gentle Anchor Doula is not responsible for damage caused by undisclosed care requirements, items left inside pockets, pre-existing damage, normal wear, color bleeding, shrinkage, or incorrect care labels.
PETS AND PROPERTY ACCESS
All pets must be secured indoors, in another room, or behind a secure barrier before pickup and delivery.
Please provide gate codes, apartment information, driveway instructions, preferred entrances, or other important access information on your intake form.
WEATHER AND ROAD SAFETY
Severe weather or unsafe road conditions may delay or reschedule service. This includes heavy rain, flooding, snow, ice, severe storms, tornado watches or warnings, extreme temperatures, and unsafe roads, sidewalks, or driveways.
If weather affects your appointment, you will receive a text message with an updated pickup or delivery time. Most delayed appointments will be moved to the next safe and available service window.
Depending on the circumstances, backup options may include porch-bin pickup, garage pickup, limited Friday service, or rescheduling.
The safety of our families and service providers will always be the priority.
SERVICE CONCERNS
Concerns involving missing, damaged, or incorrectly returned items must be reported within 24 hours of delivery.
